Choosing an HRT
There is a wide choice of HRTs available to women, and it may sometimes be the case that the first preparation you try is not the one that suits you best. HRT needs to be tailored to each individual woman, to ensure that the chosen treatment is the right one for her.
Women also need to be made aware of their individual risks and benefits. Some women find HRT begins to work soon after starting it, while others need to give the HRT some time to have an effect. When starting HRT, women should be prescribed the lowest effective dose, in line with current guidelines.
