MERIT™ background

MERIT™ is a diabetes education programme designed for primary care healthcare professionals.  It was developed by Novo Nordisk using a team of medical writers and reviewed by a panel of GPs.  

It is modular programme, tailored to fit the needs of a busy primary care practice and consists of two complementary elements:

Meeting Educational Requirements

After a practice has agreed to participate in MERIT™, training needs are assessed and  the programme tailored accordingly. This section will consist of classroom training, presentations, workshops, case studies and practical tips all facilitated by a Diabetes Nurse Educator.

Improving Treatment

The second element of MERIT™  is the follow up and ongoing review of training needs, where practices benefit from a period of one to one in-practice mentoring, assistance in reviewing patients in-clinic and group study sessions.

MERIT™ modules

There are currently two modules availble:

Flexible

One of the key words with MERIT™  is flexibility.  Courses are tailored to individual practice needs, individual development needs and delivered in modules to best fit work schedules.
